Say to your class: “I have a treat here for each one of you. ?(Pass out brownies). ?Before eating them, read the recipe to make sure it contains appropriate ingredients as far as the Word of Wisdom is concerned. ?(Write it down on a recipe card if you have one – make it look real!)
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cow manure
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Melt butter and chocolate in a large pan. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla. Stir in eggs, flour, cow manure and chocolate chips. Pour into a 9×13 pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in oven at 350 for 10 minutes.
(Wait for reaction.) ?You can see that the secret ingredient in this special recipe is cow manure. ?It won?t hurt you?it?s all natural and perfectly safe! ?It?s just a little bit and one time certainly won?t hurt you. ?All the good stuff will cover it up.
There are some things we would never put in our bodies, let alone pass our lips; but sometimes there are those who might think it is nothing to drink or smoke or take drugs just once?just a little won?t hurt?and yet these are far more harmful than eating a teaspoon of manure.” ?(Assure them that there is no manure in the brownies and they can eat them?that this was just an illustration of some of the excuses people use for breaking the Word of Wisdom.)
